On September 27th, the delegation from West Visayas State University visited our university. A meeting was held in the conference room at International Exchange and Cooperation Office in Huaxi Campus. The director of Development and Planning Department Mr. Cerbo, the director of Foreign Language Center Ms. Quimpo of the West Visayas State University of the Philippines, the Vice Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of School of Chinese Language and Literature Mr. Li Xianjun，and the director of International Exchange and Cooperation Office of GZMU and Dean of the School of International Education Prof. Zeng Li attended the meeting.
Prof. Zeng Li firstly expressed her cordial welcome to Mr. Cerbo and his delegation to our school. She briefly introduced the history of the construction and development about GZMU, and also introduced the importance of the office’s efforts to develop cooperation and exchanges with foreign countries. Afterwards, Prof. Zeng introduced Mr. Li Xianjun as he used to be a tutor with rich teaching and guidance experience to visit the Philippine Chinese Education Center in Manila. Prof. Li introduced the history and background of the School of Chinese Language and Literature and emphasized the outstanding contributions of the faculties and students made to Southeast Asia and the Philippines. Prof. Li fully demonstrated that we cordially welcome the representatives of WVSU and established a profound friendship to further promote the process of establishing practice base of Chinese teaching at the West Visayas State University and the process of establishing Confucius Institute in the Philippines.
Mr.Cerbo stated his desire to cooperate with our school. Mrs. Quimpo made a more detailed introduction about the Foreign Language Center, which hoped to cooperate with our school to cultivate Chinese teachers of higher education.
Later, they conducted further discussions on deepening exchanges and cooperation between the two universities and reached a consensus on further improving the quality of the cooperative project.
