On July 22nd, hosted jointly by Malaysian Ministry of Education, the Secretariat of the Organizing committee of China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, the Malaysian Embassy Education Office and Guizhou Equipment Manufacturing Vocational College, and Malaysian Multimedia University and Communication University of China, China-Malaysia University President Cooperation Dialogue and China-Malaysia Higher Education Exhibition was held at the permanent venue of the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation week in Gui'an New District.
The dialogue meeting aims to jointly explore the opportunities and future development of China-Malaysia higher education cooperation under the “Belt and Road Initiative”, as well as the mechanism and methods of teacher and student mobility between China and Malaysia. It also discusses the complementary advantages of education resources between China and Malaysia, provides a platform for the cooperation between China and Malaysia universities to sign the cooperation framework and opportunities for exchanges.
Prof. Dr. Wei Wei, Vice President of Guizhou Minzu University(GZMU), introduced the university’s history, professional settings, infrastructure, and international exchange and cooperation at the meeting. She said that GZMU has always adhered to the open-minded international education strategy and strengthened international cooperation with ASEAN countries. She hopes that this dialogue will further narrow the distance between Chinese universities and Malaysian universities, enhance mutual understanding, deepen mutual friendship, broaden the channels of communication, and make progress in terms of students’ and teachers’ exchanges and scientific research. GZMU signed MoU during the dialogue with International Islamic University Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi MARA.

More than 20 Presidents from famous universities in China and Malaysia participated in this dialogue and exchanged their views on potential exchange programs, personnel training, joint research, cultural exchanges and medical services, etc..

GZMU also participated in the China-Malaysia Higher Education Exhibition. In the exhibition, GZMU has displayed the university through graphic paintings, video materials and university brochures. A Bangladeshi student and a Lao student dressed in their national costumes at the booth, introducing the life of international students to the guests participating in China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week.
